Jeemca is seeking a talented and experienced Designer with a BCIN (Building Code Identification Number) certification to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and overseeing the design of residential additions and renovations, ensuring that all designs comply with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and meet client expectations.
– Create detailed design plans for residential additions, renovations, and remodels that align with client requirements and the Ontario Building Code.
– Develop innovative and functional designs that maximize space, aesthetic appeal, and structural integrity.
– Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet client specifications and project goals.
– Ensure all designs adhere to the latest Ontario Building Code regulations and guidelines.
– Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for permit applications and approvals, ensuring timely compliance with municipal and provincial regulations.
– Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant legislation.
– Conduct design consultations with clients to understand their vision and translate it into actionable plans.
– Present design concepts and revisions to clients, incorporating their feedback while maintaining compliance with building standards.
– Provide expert advice on design possibilities, materials, and construction methods that align with client budgets and timelines.
– BCIN certification is required.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential design, with a strong portfolio of completed addition and renovation projects.
– In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and local zoning regulations.
– Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
– Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey design concepts to clients and team members.
– Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs to meet site-specific challenges.
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
– A keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative, sustainable design.
